Improved Machining Speed and Feed Wizard Integration Released

With the recent release of our KipwareCSF® - Machining Speed and Feed Wizard for Kipware® Conversational ... Kentech Inc. has begun the journey to allow users to build speed and feed databases whose information can easily be integrated into Kipware® conversational CNC programming software.

With our newest feature release ... KipwareCSF® also now gives our KipwareCYC® - Machining Cycletime Estimating Software users the power to import their cutting parameter database built in KipwareCYC® into KipwareCSF® and therefore into Kipware® conversational.

What does it all mean?
It means that cutting parameters utilized in KipwareCYC® to calculate machining cycletime ... can now be imported and used directly in Kipware® conversational when creating the G code programs to meet those estimates. This means that our core principal for accurate machining cycletime estimating is now even more enhanced ... the cutting parameters used when estimating will now be used directly in the machining G code programs.

Now that we have a basis for speed and feed calculations and integration with the release of KipwareCSF® ... we will continue to grow that app and add additional features ... calculations ... and power. In addition ... the role of KipwareCYC® and Kipware® conversational will continue to grow and intertwine.

If you are not on-board as a Kipware® user ... we invite you to invest some of your valuable time exploring our various Kipware® titles. For thousands of real world machine shops around the world ...  their explorations of Kipware® has been time well spent.

Fun Friday : Microsoft vs Ford

Hey it's Friday.
The end of a long and hard fought work week.
How about some fun ???

For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If Ford had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Bill's comments, Ford issued a press release stating:
If Ford had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics :
  1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash... twice a day.
  2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
  3. Occasionally, your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.
  4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
  5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.
  6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light.
  7. The airbag system would ask, "Are you sure?" before deploying.
  8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
  9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
  10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.
In all fairness ....
All man made things come with their faults and quirks ... with "features" that are one's man's trash and another man's gold. In all fairness ... where would be without Bill Gates and Microsoft and the PC's we all live and prosper with every day. It may have it's faults ... but it has enabled us to reach for and touch all of our "stars". Thanks Bill !!

New Release - KipwareCSF® Machining Speed and Feed Wizard for Kipware® Conversational

Kentech Inc. is pleased to announce the release of our latest feature for Kipware® conversational CNC programming software ... KipwareCSF®.

KipwareCSF® is our machining speed and feed wizard for Kipware® conversational and will automatically calculate cutting parameters for conversational cycles based on a user defined cutting parameter database. This new STANDARD feature adds a tighter integration and auto-calculations for spindle speeds and cutting feedrates to Kipware® conversational.

The KipwareCSF® database is uniquely designed to be both easy to integrate and powerful with an unlimited capacity ... allowing the user complete control and greater flexibility than "book knowledge" speed and feed wizards.

KipwareCSF® calculations can be accessed inside ANY conversational menu in Kipware® conversational ... making auto-calculations of cutting parameters and auto-insertion of those parameters smooth, quick and easy.
